Welcome to the Suzuki Violin group in Prague, the first of its kind in the Czech Republic.
Shinichi Suzuki, a Japanese educator, founder of the Suzuki method, was born in the Japanese city of Nagoya in 1898. After 1945, he founded his 'Talent Education' Institute in Matsumoto. The academy was based on his philosophy, according to which each child can develop, if given the conditions for its development.
In the 1960s his method spread in the United States and later on in Western Europe. Shinichi Suzuki died in 1998 at the age of 99 years.
Many teachers studied at the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto in Japan, among others, William Starr and Barbara Barber of the United States and Kerstin Wartberg from Germany, author of a series Step by Step which is used successfully in teaching violin all around Europe.
Currently the Suzuki method is used in 46 countries of the world.
You can find out more about the Suzuki philosophy and method in the book Nurtured by Love, about learning the violin by the Suzuki method in Prague in the section Lessons.
Beside violin teacher, a certified Suzuki piano teacher is working in Prague as well.
